Description

ΦX174 Virion DNA is the single-stranded viral DNA isolated from bacteriophage ΦX174 am3 cs70. It has a molecular weight of 1.70 x 106 daltons and is 5386 bases in length. Greater than 85% of the molecules are circular.

DNASU and Addgene are central repositories for plasmid clones and collections that may also be helpful.

Product Source

The phage is grown in E. coli HF4704 and purified by cesium chloride density gradient centrifugation. The DNA is isolated from the purified phage by phenol extraction according to the procedure of Sinsheimer.
