Monitor bacterial biofilm growth in real-time
Dear Scientist,
Did you know that with the xCELLigence Real-Time Cell Analysis (RTCA) system from ACEA Biosciences, the behavior of bacteria in biofilms is extremely well to monitor?
Employing noninvasive gold microelectrodes the xCELLigence RTCA system maximizes the physiological relevance of data extracted from in vitro cellular assays by enabling label-free, real-time monitoring of biofilm formation.
The importance of using real-time data to study bacterial biofilms is underscored by the paper that Alex Mira and his group published in J Appl Microbiol. Their conclusion is that once a biofilm is formed, antibiotic efficacy dramatically reduces and sub-inhibitory concentrations of some antibiotics even stimulate biofilm growth.
Meet the author or learn more about RTCA!
Do you want to meet the author or hear more about the xCELLigence RTCA? Alex Mira is one of the speakers during EuroBiofilms, the 5th European Congress on Microbial Biofilms in Amsterdam. BIOKÉ and ACEA Biosciences will be present with a booth during this meeting from 19 until 22 September 2017.
I am looking forward to seeing you in September or feel free to contact me if you want to discuss the possibilities of real-time cellular analysis in your research.
