There are many instruments on the market that are able to melt dsDNA, and only a handful of them are able to monitor the melting process in real-time. These real-time PCR instruments have been instrumental in opening up new doors in the biotech industry. Yet, we have taken it one step further...

Through innovative engineering and imaginative development, Idaho Technology has perfected melting dsDNA and labeled in Hi-Res Melting. This new technology enables you to detect a single-base change in your sample by just melting the PCR product. Results from Hi-Res Melting are fast and obtained immediately after PCR by just transferring the PCR plate or tube to a Hi-Res Melting instrument.


 

Competing Instruments Don't Have the Resolution or Precision for Hi-Res Melting

Without consistent success, Hi-Res Melting has been attempted in real-time PCR instruments. Their failures are due to low resolution data acquisition, insufficient temperature control, lack of adequate analysis software, and inherent inadequacies of the fluorescent chemistry such as SYBR® Green I which is unable to adequately detect heteroduplexes.
